Rex has been crowned the new head of the Big Brother 9 house after winning a task in which the housemates had to pose like famous statues.

The challenge, set on Saturday afternoon, saw the six remaining housemates who have not yet been in charge – Rex, Mohamed, Sara, Kathreya, Lisa and Nicole – transforming themselves into statues with the help of some body paint.

Among those they were given the chance to replicate were The Statue Of Liberty and Eros.

They then had to stand still on the plinths provided for as long as possible, with the head of house rosette being given to the person who stayed still for longest.

In the end only Mohamed and Rex remained standing, however Mo was disqualified after Big Brother noticed him moving while standing on his plinth.

That left Rex, who punched the air in victory, while Rachel applauded and Nicole moved to congratulate him.

“It’s going to be the easiest week you lot have ever had,” he joked afterwards.

Meanwhile, Rex has also revealed that he is prepared to quit the house if Nicole is evicted or walks, according to the papers.

The Sun reports that the chef told the others he wanted to be in the final with his girlfriend – and would “find it hard to stay” if she was not there.
