Hazel O’Sullivan has become the latest contestant to be booted out of the Big Brother house, in the penultimate Friday night eviction of the series.
The model – who had proven far from popular with viewers following her controversial relationship with fellow housemate Daley Ojuederie – had narrowly escaped the chop last Friday when Callum Knell was voted out.
However her luck finally ran out after she found herself going head to head with Charlie Travers, after Dexter Koh, Sophie Lawrence and twins Jack and Joe Glenny had all been saved in the latest public vote.
And she left the house to an almost entirely hostile reaction, with the crowd booing and changing ‘get Hazel out’ as she returned to the real world.
Despite this she did her best to defend her relationship with Daley – which ended abruptly when he was removed from the house following an argument in the safe house which got out of hand.
“Daley was the one that had or didn’t have the girlfriend,” Hazel told Emma Willis.
“I could have nipped it in the bud if I wasn’t getting so many mixed messages.”
She added: “When I saw him on the first night, it wasn’t an instant “I’m gonna get this guy” it developed very slowly, we had a lot of intimate chats and one thing led to another.
“There wasn’t a whole lot to it. You can’t avoid someone if there was chemistry and a connection and it didn’t lead to anything else.”
Hazel also pointed out that the pair had not even become that intimate, saying: “We didn’t have sex, we didn’t kiss. So it didn’t really lead to anything else, there wasn’t a finale.”
Six Big Brother housemates now remain – including the twins – with one more eviction due before the series final on August 19.
