Big Brother 11’s latest evictee Govan Zachariah Hinds has admitted he used the show to “come out” to his friends and family about his sexuality.

The 21-year-old from Leicester – who was booted out of the house on Friday – describes himself as “bi-curious” but admitted he was worried what some of his friends would think as he had not told them.

“Rather than have to make a statement to a few people that had questioned me it was just like – you’ll see something and that will be that,” Govan said. “I suppose it was a bit cowardly but that’s just the way I thought.”

However he was relieved to discover when he left the house that his family and friends had accepted the news.

Some family members, we’d already had the talk anyway, some I was too worried to approach about it,” he revealed.

“But by the time I met them last night they’d all been having their own kind of conference, where they’d all discussed it. So when it came to actually me meeting them that was the least thing on their minds, in that they don’t care.”

Govan had confessed to Josie while in the house that he was worried how people on the outside world would react.

“I know a lot of people have told me that you should only care about those that care about you,” he said “and they don’t matter if they don’t care but that’s easier said than done.

“You can’t help but love the people that you love, and if they don’t love you back, it’s not very nice.”
