Jade Goody has started her first day of married life after her ‘dream’ wedding to Jack Tweed.
The cancer-stricken Big Brother star, who has been given just months to live, enjoyed a day of ‘laughter and tears’ at the lavish ceremony in Essex, her publicist Max Clifford said.
It was attended by around 200 guests including television personalities Richard Madeley, Judy Finnigan and Paul O’Grady – and also included a performance from girl band the Sugababes.
Mother-of-two Jade was reportedly dosed with painkillers for the 45-minute service at the Down Hall Country Hotel near Hatfield Heath.
Wearing a £3,500 Manuel Mota dress, she is said to have stood for virtually the whole service before being being forced to sit down from ‘fatigue and emotion’. Her young sons then sat on her knees.
According to the Daily Star, she told her guests: “I just want to thank you all for making my special day really special. I’m just so very happy.”
Jack – whose night-time bail curfew following his conviction for assault was lifted by the Ministry of Justice – added: “I’m proud to say I’m your husband,” the paper said.
The 27-year-old TV personality sold the picture and TV rights of the ceremony for nearly £1 million, and she hopes to raise as much money as possible for her sons from a previous relationship, Bobby, five, and Freddie, four.
“It was a wonderful day. A dream day. A day of laughter and tears,” said Max Clifford as he left the event. “Jade was hilarious with some of the ad libs she made as she said her vows.”
