After 93 days, Mikey Hughes, the first ever blind housemate, is the bookies’ favourite to win Big Brother on Friday night.

However, The Sun poll, which has been an accurate predictor of reality show winners in the past, has Rachel as the runaway winner.

Whoever takes the crown is set to walk away with a £100,000 prize despite this series being the most unpopular ever.

The average audience has been 3.2 million, 300,000 less than last year and a huge drop from the 5.3 million who tuned in for launch night.

Part of the reason may be that there have been less stand-out characters this year than in previous series but Big Brother editor David Williams refuted these claims:

“For a ninth series we’ve had never-been-seen-before characters who have produced their own iconic Big Brother moments, including some of the most unexpected relationships and friendships ever, which, for Big Brother fans, results in a vintage year of viewing.

“We look forward to celebrating 10 years of Big Brother next year.”
