ITV1 has had a remarkable week of ratings, thanks to its heavy scheduling of the massively popular reality show Britain's Got Talent. On Thursday, Britain's Got Talent won 9.7 million viewers and a 41 per cent audience share between 8.30pm and 10pm - up 400,000 on Wednesday night. This 9.7 million average was up 1.8 million viewers compared with the live Thursday semi-final last year. The 'BGT effect' meant BBC One suffered what's thought to be its worst ever audience share between 7pm-10.30pm on a Thursday night. On Wednesday night, Britain's Got Talent top-rated with 9.3 million viewers and a 40 per cent share of the watching audience, while on Tuesday it drew an average of nearly nine million despite appearing opposite BBC One hit The Apprentice. On Monday, Britain's Got Talent drew almost 11 million viewers. CLICK here for the full story on the Media Guardian website.
