Breaking Casualty news: Hollywood star Sharon Gless's Casualty episode to air in November
From Cagney & Lacey to Casualty! Sharon Gless is appearing in BBC1’s medical drama, Casualty, in a special guest role… And What’s on TV have just had it confirmed by a Casualty spokesperson that Sharon’s episode will air on BBC1 in November
Sharon, 74, joins Casualty in a pivotal episode for Casualty favourite, doctor Dylan Keogh (Will Beck). She plays Zsa Zsa Harper-Jenkinson, a highly skilled surgeon and former mentor to Dylan.
Sharon is best known for playing Christine Cagney alongside Tyne Daly, who co-starred as Mary Beth Lacey in the New York-based detective drama, running in the US from 1982 until 1988. With a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Sharon’s other major works includes Queer as Folk, Burn Notice, Nip/Tuck, for which she earned an Emmy nomination for Guest Actress in a Drama Series in 2008. Sharon also recently finished filming hit US drama The Exorcist with Geena Davis
Speaking about her upcoming role in Casualty, Sharon said: “I’m a rabid Anglophile. Some of our finest American TV is British. Zsa Zsa is a wonderful character and I hope you all enjoy her too.”
Doctor Dylan Keogh is currently in a difficult predicament on Casualty, with clinical lead Connie very close to discovering he smuggled refugee Sanosi into the UK from France.
