Actor Bruce Jones is reportedly the lowest paid housemate ever to enter Celebrity Big Brother – with his former Corrie co-star Vicky Entwistle pocketing ten times his fee.
According to the Sunday Mirror Bruce – who played Les Battersby in the ITV soap – is receiving just £15,000 for his stint in the house.
By contrast Vicky, who played his screen wife Janice, is one of the highest paid contestants of the series with a £150,000 fee.
The 60-year-old – who now works as a mechanic – had previously been offered £55,000 to appear in 2012 but turned the offer down.
Bruce and Vicky – who has been starring in the West End production of Les Miserables – received a rapturous response from the crowd when they entered the house on Thursday night.
However they quickly ran into trouble after being named the most famous housemates by the others – being made to sleep in a special four-poster bed in the garden as a result.
The first Celebrity Big Brother eviction will take place on Wednesday night – with Ron Atkinson already up for the chop.
Geordie Shore’s Charlotte Crosby is the bookies favourite to win the series.
