Troubled former footballer Paul Gascoigne will reportedly be offered round the clock access to a psychologist if he signs up for Celebrity Big Brother.

According to The Sun, show producers are hoping to get Gazza in the house alongside his old rival Vinnie Jones – but they are concerned the 42-year-old may not cope with the pressure of life in the house.

He has struggled with drink and drug problems since retiring from football in 2004 – and has been warned he could face a tough time in the house.

However, both show bosses and friends of the footballer are keen for him to do the show, suggesting it would be beneficial for him.

“The producers really want Gazza, so they’re looking at giving him 24-hour support,” an insider told the paper.

“His friends are pushing for him to do it as they believe viewers will fall for him all over again.

“They think he could win – and public support could help him get over his problems.”

Earlier in the week The Sun reported that Vinnie Jones had been offered a $1m deal to appear on the show and keep an eye on Gazza.
