Christmas Eve
My Family
BBC1, 8pm
The Harker family return for a festive special. Expect the usual hilarity as dentist Ben and art lover Susan struggle to cope with their energetic family. This year the Harkers' celebrate Christmas 30 years in the future, so Ben is a grumpy 80-year-old, Susan miraculously looks no different, while the kids are fighting the ravages of middle age. You'd think they might have resolved some of their issues by now, but you'd be very wrong. Nathaniel Parker guest-stars.
Heston's Christmas Feast
Channel 4, 8pm
Wacky superchef Heston Blumenthal gets festive by creating a feast inspired by Christmas dishes of the past and serves up such tempting treats as whale vomit - a favourite appetiser of King Charles II apparently! Dormouse and venison are also on the menu as well as an edible Christmas scene with flavoured snow. TV funnywoman Arabella Weir, rugby star Matt Dawson and actor/writer Charlie Higson are all guests at Heston's festive offering. Mariella Frostrup, James Purefoy and Kate Spicer are also among the lucky celebs who were invited, but will they brave the whale sick? That's the question on everyone's, er, lips.
