Coronation Street has announced that troublesome minx Rosie Webster is to return to the Street for a short stint early in 2017

After a five year-absence, Helen Flanagan says she’s ‘delighted’ to be returning to Coronation Street as Rosie Webster early next year.

Corrie producer Kate Oates said: “The Websters have missed Rosie and so have we. With Sophie away on holiday with her sister it seemed like the ideal time to bring Rosie back home with her for a visit. We are delighted that Helen is as keen explore what Rosie has been up to away from the cobbles as we are.”

Helen will return on-screen in February and her stint will last until some time in the spring.

Details of why Rosie is back in Weatherfield are being kept under wraps, but she arrives back to visit the Websters with sister Sophie who’s returning from their trip to Miami.

Helen, who first joined Corrie as a 10-year-old, left the show in 2012 and infamously participated in I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! later that year. She had a baby daughter with partner, Celtic FC footballer Scott Sinclair, in June last year.

Helen said: “I’m so excited to be returning to Coronation Street and being part of the Webster family again.”
