Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan has confessed she would love to see Cheryl Cole making an appearance on the soap as her character’s big sister.

Cheryl recently revealed that she is a huge fan of the show, and of Michelle’s screen alter ego Tina McIntyre – and the actress revealed she would be thrilled if the two were to be united on screen.

“Oh my God, I would love that! That would be amazing, yeah!” Michelle told Star magazine.

“I’ve seen her at dos and stuff, I haven’t actually gone over and said hello, though.”

The actress also revealed that Tina’s single status will not last long – with romance set to blossom between her and Tommy Duckworth, played by Chris Fountain.

“Tommy and Tina are finally getting together in the new year,” Michelle said. “Their relationship has been a slow-burner and a will-they-won’t-they sort of thing.

And she admitted that the tragic death of Tina’s screen dad Joe (Reece Dinsdale) had been her favourite storyline so far.

“I know it sounds really grim, but it was a big storyline for me and I worked with numerous characters, and it was a chance to show every emotion possible. I really enjoyed it,” she said.
