1. Sue Cleaver was banned from watching Corrie as a kid!
“I think it’s hysterical, my father wouldn’t have soaps on in the house, we weren’t even allowed to watch ITV, it’s really embarrassing,” recalled Sue. “I wasn’t even allowed to watch Scooby Doo.”
2. Sue got her first TV role alongside David Jason
Her first break in television was a tiny role in a 1994 episode of David Jason’s hit ITV crime drama A Touch of Frost. Sue played a receptionist.
3. Sue is a trained psychotherapist
“I’ve always been fascinated by the good it can do. Personally I think it should be mandatory for every single teen in the country,” she once told us.
4. Sue lovers her art
Asked by TV Times what her most treasured possession was, Sue replied: “A large oil painting that’s very special to me. It’s an avant-garde piece from Germany and it’s very big and cost me a lot of money. I do like art and I’d like to collect more.”
5. Sue is a little bit in love with Venice!
Describing her perfect day, she said: “I’d get a flight early in the morning from Manchester and arrive in Venice about one o’clock. I’d mooch around, have a few drinks, then have dinner at the Cipriani, which is a famous hotel on Venice harbour. I’ve been there before and love it.”
6. Sue’s favourite drink is champagne!
And she likes a certain brand, Billecart-Salmon champagne!
7. Sue was an agony aunt on This Morning
Back in 2016 Sue joined forces with This Morning’s agony aunt Denise Robertson to offer help to some viewers with their problems.
