Stalker
Stalkers come in many different guises, as this new documentary series for the Crime and Investigation Network reveals.
Featuring case studies of real crimes, the series examines what motivates a stalker and explores the devastating effects their harassment has on the victims and their families.
Luckily, as this series proves, most stalkers are caught. But some cases prove fatal - like that of shopgirl Clare Bernal, who was shot dead in the middle of Harvey Nichols department by jilted lover Michael Pech in 2004. Or there's the story of poetry teacher Rosie Garland, who learned a harsh lesson of her own when she innocently praised one of her students who then began stalking her.
The programme also looks at the Cyber Stalker and, particularly, how the advent of social networking sites are fuelling this modern phenomenon.
