The First 48
The chances of solving a murder case are cut in half if detectives don’t get a lead in the first 48 hours. Each passing hour gives the perpetrators more time to flee, witnesses more time to forget what they saw and crucial evidence more time to be lost for ever.
Judge just how correct this view by accompanying detectives to fresh crime scenes in the new series of The First 48, screening Tuesday to Friday on the Crime and Investigation Network.
The detective teams race against the clock in a style of television that is more closely related to TV drama than reality documentaries. The clock is ticking in these ‘critical hours’ as teams from right across the United States work to crack real-life murder cases.
