Women on Death Row
Women on Death Row profiles the complex lives of four women who were sentenced to death in the United States. Through interviews with the women, direct from location in prison, we discover what life is like on death row and what it is like to face execution. We explore the years leading up to the crime, the events of the crime, questioning their guilt and their reasons for committing the crime, as well as what has happened to them since their conviction.
Since 1984, 11 women have been executed in the US, while another 53 remain on death row.
Although each woman was convicted of committing terrible, bloody and vicious murders, Women on Death Row will also dissect how these acts contradict the universally accepted maternal, loving aspects of the gender.
