Dancing on Ice stars are said to be in uproar after show bosses revealed they would have to eliminate one of their fellow competitors on Sunday night.

All 11 remaining skaters will perform as normal on the main ITV1 show, with the combination of judges’ scores and viewers votes deciding which two couples will be in the skate-off.

But, in a cruel twist, it will be the celebrities – not the judges – who will decide which celebrity stays and who goes.

Hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby will ask each skater one by one who they think should get the chop, and give their reasons why.

The skater who receives the highest number of votes after the skate-off will be knocked out of the competition.

It’s thought that stars Kerry Katona and Denise Welch initially REFUSED to do it, telling producers: “This isn’t fair, we’re not doing it. You can’t make us slag each other off.”

And Vanilla Ice raged: “What have you done? We used to be skaters – and now we’re haters.”

A show source said: “This has really put the cat among the pigeons. They have all quietly been keeping their thoughts about their rivals to themselves.

“Now they will be forced to say what they think and look them in the eye while they’re doing it. We’ve told them they can’t mince their words and they have to give an honest opinion.

“On camera, they like to give the impression that it’s all one big happy family – but that could not be further from the truth.
