Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner has slammed the new line-up of famous faces in Dancing On Ice, according to the papers.
The show – which returns for a fourth series on ITV1 on Sunday – sees the likes of X Factor runner-up Ray Quinn, former EastEnders Todd Carty and Gemma Bissix, rugby star Ellery Hanley and GMTV presenter Michael Underwood strapping on their skates.
However Gardiner – who has a reputation as the hardest-to-please judge on the panel of the ITV1 skating show – told The Sun, “How can they call themselves celebrities? I haven’t a clue who they are.”
And he added that he was appalled to see former Liberty X singer Jessica Taylor in the line-up – as she already has skating experience, having appeared on the BBC1 show Strictly Ice Dancing in 2004.
“The show should be about novices,” Gardiner added.
And he also said that he would have no patience with sob stories this series.
“I’m sick to death of the sympathy vote,” he told the paper. I don’t care how much agony you’re in — or if you’re doing it for charity.”
