It’s the second week of Dancing On Ice 2012, and time for the remaining eight celebrities to skate for the first time – with their place in the competition at stake
Sunday’s show began with a performance from Pixie Lott, who stood on a podium in the middle of the rink surrounded by skaters
Christine Bleakley overcame a bout of food poisoning to make it to the show, and looked glamorous in a pale pink dress
First on to the ice this week was Jennifer Ellison, who won praise from the judges for her routine to an Andrews Sisters classic
CBBC’s Sam Nixon was next, and fared rather better than his presenting partner Mark Rhodes did last Sunday, scoring 15.5 points
Rosemary Conley was next – and despite suffering a slip early on in her routine she made it through to the end
Laila Morse was battling a shoulder injury when she made her debut on the ice
The EastEnders star fought her way through a routine which Robin Cousins described as “basic” – and which left her at the bottom of the scoreboard with just 9.5 points
Free-running expert Sebastien Foucan was determined to make his mark, despite being one of the lesser known celebrities in the show
And he and partner Brianne Delcourt delivered a fast-paced routine full of acrobatics which suggested he will be one to watch
However one of the biggest surprises of the night came from Chico Slimani – who stepped in at the last minute to replace Chesney Hawkes, and who delivered a terrific performance, finishing second with 18.5. Another contender perhaps?
Hollywood actor Corey Feldman didn’t fare quite so well, and although the judges liked the routine they had their reservations about his performance
Finally it was the turn of Emmerdale’s Matthew Wolfenden
The actor – dressed from head to toe in black leather – turned in a sizzling performance with partner Nina Ulanova which won him 20.5 points – the highest score of the series so far. Could he become the second Emmerdale star to win the series?
When it came to the results, Rosemary was thrilled to learn that she and Mark Hanretty had made it through
There was also good news for Sam Nixon and Alexandra Schauman
However Corey Feldman and Brooke Castile found themselves facing the skate-off….
…as did Laila Morse and partner Lukasz Rozycki
And after both had skated again, it was time to say goodbye to Laila. A short but sweet appearance in the contest, and now 13 celebrity skaters remain…
