Todd Carty is set to return to the rink for the final of Dancing on Ice, according to The Sun.

The former EastEnder – who lasted five weeks on the show in spite of his terrible skating – was responsible for the series’ most memorable moment when he went hurtling off the rink mid-routine.

The clip – in which Todd was skating to the Beatles‘ song Help with partner Susie Lipanova – has been viewed more than one million times on Youtube.

The actor has since revealed that he was supposed to skate into the tunnel during the routine – but the move went spectacularly wrong.

“The plan was for me to skate off into the tunnel and re-emerge near the end of the song,” he said.

“But as we did the move, little did I realise I would catch my toe clip and go hurtling into the tunnel.

I forgot all my basic skills so went charging and stumbling in. I then went flat on my backside. I turned to the assistant floor manager and said, ‘I need to get back out there. Get me up, get me up’.”

A show insider confirmed Todd would be returning, but said they were not sure whether he would recreate the Help! routine in the final.

“We might have to up our insurance policy if he does it again,” the insider joked.

Meanwhile, Roxanne Pallett is the favourite to be eliminated from the show this Sunday. Bookmakers Paddy Power are offering odds of 6-4 on the Emmerdale star – who so far has not been in the skate-off – getting her marching orders.
