Doctors unite for Children in Need special
23/06/2009 - 14:46

New Doctor Who Matt Smith will be united on screen with all 10 previous Time Lords for a Children In Need Special of the cult sci-fi show, it has been reported.
The 15-minute episode, to air on BBC1 in November as part of the charity's live TV appeal, will feature all 11 actors who have played The Doctor including Tom Baker, Colin Baker, Peter Davidson, Paul McGann and David Tennant, the Daily Mirror reports.
The late William Hartnell, who first played him in 1963, Jon Pertwee and Patrick Troughton will be included in the special, using footage from their original incarnations as Time Lord, and Christopher Ecclestone and Sylvester McCoy will also guest star in the episode.
Matt Smith will make his first appearance as the Doctor in the special episode, but David Tennant, who bows out as The Doctor at the end of this year, will play the lead Doctor.
All actors will all be working for free to help raise money for Children In Need.
This is not the first time all the Doctor Whos have been reunited. In 1983 the five Doctors to date were reunited for a Children In Need special and in 1993 Doctors three to seven appeared in another one-off show for the charity.
