Has Doctor Who star Matt split with Daisy Lowe?

Doctor Who star Matt Smith has split from his model girlfriend Daisy Lowe, according to reports.

The couple, who were first seen together at Californian music festival Coachella last year, are said to have split last week.

Friends of the couple told the Sun they had struggled to spend time together because of their busy lives.

Matt has recently been filming Olympic rowing saga Bert and Dickie for the BBC as well as the latest instalment of the Time Lord's adventures, while Daisy regularly travels on modelling jobs.

The Sun quoted a source who said: "It's really sad that this has happened, but as they're both so in demand at the moment it was really difficult for them to find time together."

Daisy, who is the daughter of singer-turned-designer Pearl Lowe and Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale, previously had a romance with producer Mark Ronson.

Speaking about Matt earlier this year, she described him as 'a wonder-man'.
