James Corden to guest star in Doctor Who

Gavin and Stacey's James Corden is set to be a guest star in Doctor Who.

The comedian revealed his new role to a fan who noticed him reading the script on a train while travelling to the set in Wales.

A source told The Sun: "We normally keep our guest stars under wraps but you can't hide a bloke like James.

"And now he's not coming to Wales for Gavin And Stacey any more, it's pretty obvious why he is here."

James will join new Doctor Matt Smith in the series that starts in Easter.

The insider added: "James loves coming to Wales.

"And it gives him a chance to meet up with Ruth Jones, who co-wrote Gavin and Stacey with him and starred as Nessa."
