Downton stars give hints about series 3 (VIDEO)

Downton Abbey stars Phyllis Logan and Brendan Coyle say series three of the hit period drama will have a shorter time span and be very different to the first two.

The actors, who play housekeeper Mrs Hughes and valet Mr Bates, were talking about series three at the press launch of the feature-length special which will screen on ITV1 on Christmas Day.

Phyllis said: "I know nothing, do you? Has Julian [Fellowes] even written any yet? He's probably written one and a bit, hasn't he? All I can say is he's not going to move it on in time too far, otherwise we'd be ageing like fury."

Brendan commented: "We go into the 1920s, but we're going to slow down the amount of time we cover..."
