Holby Blue

Holby Blue

*The second series of Holby Blue has concluded*

Holby Blue is back for an extended 12-part second series, with a replacement for DCI Harry Hutchinson and some gritty plots.

The new series kicks off with a murder at Holby City General - the first time one of its storylines has crossed paths with its sister show.

Series creator, Tony Jordan, says: "It's a really interesting experiment for us to have such an integrated storyline across both shows. Fans of Holby City will only know what happens to Jac if they watch Holby Blue."

New to this series is young and charismatic DCI Scott Vaughan (Oliver Milburn) who is drafted in to replace disgraced DCI Hutchinson who was arrested on corruption charges.

DI John Keenan (Cal MacAnich) is relieved to be rescued from filling in as acting DCI, but his trust in his superiors has been severely bruised and Scott has to prove his worth.

The night before his first day, Scott flirted with a woman at a police event, who he soon finds out was John's wife Kate (Zoe Lucker). With their marriage on rocky ground, will Kate be able to resist the growing sexual tension with the new recruit?

Oliver Milburn, who plays DCI Vaughn, says: "This series is all about Scott taking control, winning the respect of his men and catching crooks. Oh, and flirting his arse off with Kate!"

Meanwhile, a heavily pregnant Inspector Jenny Black (Kacey Ainsworth) is still in charge of uniform - but the tragic death of one of the officers sends shockwaves through the team...
