Luke gets some devastating news

Following the birth of their first child, Luke and Mandy's marriage is stronger than ever. At work, John notices that Luke has a natural talent with women, and asks him for tips on how to win over his wife, Kate. Later, just as Luke thinks his life couldn't get any better, he receives some devastating news that will change his life forever...

Meanwhile, Lucy and Jake arrive at the scene of a robbery to find the branch manager lying unconscious, having been shot. When CID conclude that it's an inside job, it's up to the team to work out which member of staff was involved - and which violent criminal they're in cahoots with.

Elsewhere, Neil and Kelly are patrolling an estate in a bid to reassure local residents that the latest spate of burglaries are being taken seriously. Later, after tending to a confused old man, another burglary is reported, and Neil and Kelly rush to investigate. The intruder is still lurking inside - and is a familiar face to the concerned Pcs...

Also, Neil gives Kelly cause to suspect that her husband is having an affair.
