Luke is grief-stricken

Following wife Mandy's emotional funeral, grief-stricken Luke can't face going home to an empty house, and returns to the station, insisting that he's better off at work. While trying to convince Luke to take some time off, John discovers that Luke's newborn Ruby is still with Mandy's mother - but Luke doesn't want to bring her home.

Meanwhile, there's been an assault on a prostitute, but as the main suspect is John's violent father, Scott reluctantly lets Luke lead the investigation. John Snr wastes no time in teasing Luke in his interview. Later, John Snr arrives at the Keenans' and charms Kate into letting him in. Kate knows John will be furious but she realises he's staying put.

Elsewhere, Pcs Lucy and Jake look into the blackmailing of a local shop owner and her husband. The officers struggle to calm to couple, who constantly bicker and ignore police advice. But they soon make a surprise discovery.

Also, Christian and Miranda arrange to go out on a date.
