Paul O'Grady to join Holby City?
28/01/2010 - 11:17

Paul O'Grady is being tipped for a role in BBC1 hospital drama Holby City.
The former Channel 4 chat show host and comedian is apparently keen to make an appearance on the hit show according to close friend and cast regular Amanda Mealing.
Amanda, who plays surgical superbitch Connie Beauchamp, has told whatsontv.co.uk that Paul was due to join the cast in previous years, but plans were shelved.
"There was a part written for him and ready to go," says Amanda, who returns to Holby City as Connie next month.
"They wanted him to play an acerbic, bitchy hospital porter, pushing patients around in wheelchairs. In the end he was too busy and the chat show came along."
The pair have been firm friends since appearing in a play together back in the nineties.
With Paul's contract at Channel 4 over, there's another opportunity for the popular comic to check in to Holby.
"He's got more time now so maybe it could happen?' muses Amanda. "I would love it, I think he'd be great."
