Tom Chambers set to quit 'Holby'

Actor Tom Chambers is set to leave Holby City after two years on the show, according to the papers.
And The Sun reports that Chambers - who plays registrar Sam Strachan on the BBC1 show - will go out in a blaze of glory in a big Christmas storyline. However show insiders are remaining silent on the actual details.
"Tom's departure will leave his fans in tears," a source told the paper, "but Holby bosses are keeping tight-lipped about whether or not Sam will be killed off."
Chambers, who is also one of the favourites to win the current series of Strictly Come Dancing, decided earlier this year he would leave Holby when his contract expired.
"I was worried about telling the bosses," he said, "but I wrote a long letter to the producers explaining my decision and they were incredibly nice about it."
"Sam Strachan has gone through so much in the past year with his cancer - it seemed like the perfect time to make the break. Then Strictly came along!"
The paper also reports that Chambers has already been in meetings with BBC and ITV execs about future work, as well as being offered roles in West End musicals.
