Beesley to quit Babylon

Max Beesley is to leave the BBC1 hit Hotel Babylon, just weeks after co-star Tamzin Outhwaite announced she was leaving the show.

According to the Mirror Beesley, who plays hotel manager Charlie Edwards, will quit at the end of the next series.

"I've had a great three years on Hotel Babylon," he told the paper, "but the time is right for Charlie to make a move."

"There's lots of exciting projects ahead I want to get my teeth into."

Co-star Outhwaite, who starred as Rebecca Mitchell in the show, has left to star in ITV1 drama The Fixer.

Teachers star Lee Williams will replace Beesley in the show, as deputy manager Jack. He will make his debut during the next series, alongside other regulars Dexter Fletcher and Emma Pierson.

Among the guest stars set to appear in the series are actor John Barrowman and American Idol judge Paula Abdul.
