Tamzin Outhwaite returns to musical theatre
10/06/2009 - 10:31

Tamzin Outhwaite is returning to the London stage in a revival of the Broadway musical Sweet Charity.
The former Hotel Babylon star will play the title role in the new production, which will run at the Menier Chocolate Factory in Southwark from November 21, 2009 to March 7, 2010, according to the Daily Mail.
Sweet Charity looks at the seedy underbelly of 1960s New York and centres on heroine Charity Hope Valentine, who dances, laughs and cries her way through a series of whirlwind romances.
The musical, which boasts the classic showtunes Rhythm of Life, If My Friends Could See Me Now and Hey Big Spender, was last revived in the West End in a 1998 production at the Victoria Palace starring Bonnie Langford.
Tamzin, who has also starred in EastEnders and the drama Red Cap, most recently appeared on stage in the 2007 West End revival of 60s romp Boeing Boeing.
Earlier in her career, she starred in musicals including Carousel, Oliver! and Grease.
Tamzin, who is married to actor Tom Ellis, gave birth to her first child in June last year.
