Millionaire Sam saves Babylon from closure
Friday, 19 June 2009 21:00 BBC1

Hotel Babylon is struggling and new general manager Juliet Miller - dubbed 'The Undertaker' by the gang - has been drafted in to close it down. In a desperate bid to save it, Tony pitches Babylon to an Asian businessman, whose daughter is meeting a Bollywood star and her future husband for the first time in an elaborate ceremony at the hotel.
The deal falls through when Tony refuses to meet his demands. But he's soon got bigger problems when a terror threat brings London to a standstill and stranded airline passengers bound for the airport seek refuge in the hotel.
Among the crowd is millionaire Sam Franklin, who's so impressed with the staff that he decides to buy Babylon.
The gang are delighted with their new owner - all except for Sam's ex-wife Juliet. They haven't seen each other in five years and old tensions soon re-surface. Can Sam and Juliet put aside their differences for the good of the hotel?
Meanwhile, receptionist Anna is eight months' pregnant, in total denial and refusing to tell anyone who the father of her unborn baby is. Below stairs, the gang place bets on who will be the first to find out who's the daddy...
