Little Dorrit star Claire Foy has described her character in the upcoming drama as 'the nicest person ever'.
TV newcomer Claire plays the title role in the BBC adaptation of the Charles Dickens novel.
A stellar cast including Matthew Macfadyen, Andy Serkis, Freema Agyeman and Ruth Jones also star in the 14-part costume drama, due to start on BBC1 at the end of October.
Speaking exclusively to whatsontv.co.uk, Claire said of her character: "Amy is very kind and considerate. She's such a lovely soul. She's had a hard life but she's still happy and she loves her family. She's the nicest person ever."
Spooks star Matthew plays the benevolent Arthur Clennam, a man who returns to London from China, and vows to reverse the fortunes of the Dorrit family.
"He's come back home to start his life again really," Matthew said of Arthur. "He had a terrible upbringing and he hasn't really done what he wanted to do. So he comes back and sets of on an adventure."
And Lord of the Rings star Andy, who plays the villain of Little Dorrit, said of his character: "Rigaud is quite charming, loveable, amorous, kisses all the girls... but he is the villain of the piece.
"He finds his way into the Clennam household and uncovers truths and identities."
