Amy struggles with her new life
Wednesday, 26 November 2008 20:00 BBC1

As the Dorrits arrive in Venice, Amy is struggling to adapt to her new, wealthy lifestyle - unlike the rest of the family. Mr Dorrit can't understand why and starts losing patience with her, especially as she keeps reminiscing about the old days, which he is trying so desperately to forget. Amy's uncle, Frederick, seems to be the only one who understands how she feels.
Back in London, Arthur throws himself into his work to take his mind off Amy and takes on Doyce's case at the Circumlocution Office. Amy and Arthur begin writing to each other and the letters, along with Amy's friendship with Pet Meagles, are what keep her going.
But Rigaud always seems to be around every time Amy wants to see Pet. And he is intent on finding out more about Amy - whether she likes it or not.
