Arthur meets Mr Meagles

Arthur Clennam strikes up a friendship with young Amy Dorrit, keen to help her in any way he can. He's suspicious that his family may have been involved in Amy's father's downfall, and that this was on his own father's conscience when he died. If Arthur can prove it, he can help put an end to the Dorrit family's troubles, for good.
While Arthur's mother remains distant, Arthur's childhood sweetheart, Flora Casby, is very pleased to see him and tries to win back his heart. But Arthur's mind is still on Pet Meagles, who he met on his journey back to England. So he's delighted when Pet's father, Mr Meagles, invites him to spend the weekend at the family home in Twickenham.
Meanwhile, hundreds of miles away in France, cold-blooded killer Rigaud becomes reacquainted with an old cellmate, Cavalletto, who unwittingly plants the idea in Rigaud's mind about the idea of coming to England...
