Arthur proposes to Pet Meagles

Arthur Clennam plucks up the courage to return to Twickenham and propose to Pet Meagles. At the Meagles' house, Tattycoram decides she will not be bossed around by them any more and storms out, declaring she's leaving for good.
A concerned Mr Meagles asks Arthur to help him find Tattycoram and they correctly guess that she has gone to stay with Miss Wade. But will they be able to tear the young girl away from this woman who seems to have such a powerful hold over her?
Later, when Pet tells Arthur she's decided to marry Gowan, a dejected Arthur returns to London.
Keen to uncover the connection between the Dorrits and the Clennams, Pancks recruits John Chivery and a lawyer to help with his enquiries. But Pancks's unusual behaviour doesn't go unnoticed by Amy, who starts to wonder what he's up to...
