Mr Dorrit enjoys the high life

As Mr Dorrit returns to England with his newlywed daughter Fanny and Edmund Sparkler, he is impressed by the splendour of the Merdle house and flattered when banker Mr Merdle offers to help him invest his fortune. Arthur also decides to invest the capital of Doyce and Clennam in Merdle's bank.
Arthur has some major plans for the business and persuades Doyce of the need for expansion. But he's still worried by the suspicion surrounding his mother's house over the disappearance of Rigaud, and commissions Pancks to find Miss Wade, in the hope she can lead him to the mysterious Frenchman.
Meanwhile, Mr Dorrit is enjoying life in London society as Mr Merdle's guest. But when faces from the past he would rather forget start to reappear, matters take a turn for the worse and Italy suddenly seems a much safer place...
