With more nail-biting dramas, exciting soap plots, addictive reality shows and hilarious comedies, it's been another fantastic year in world of TV – and the National Television Awards is set to celebrate all the small screen highlights we've been talking about over the past 12 months.

The ceremony, which this year will be hosted by Dermot O'Leary and broadcast live from London’s O2 arena – will see all your favourite TV shows and characters battling it out for the gongs which have been chosen by viewers.

Over the summer, TV addicts have been voting for who should make the National Television Awards shortlist, and you can decide which programmes and stars should win on the big night.

Among those up for awards are EastEnders' Lacey Turner (Stacey), Coronation Street's Katherine Kelly (Becky) and David Tennant for his role as Doctor Who.

Ant and Dec are hoping to make it an incredible ninth consecutive win in the Most Popular Entertainment Presenter category while Benidorm, Gavin & Stacey, The Inbetweeners and Harry Hill's TV Burp are all up for Most Popular Comedy.

Meanwhile, it's boys v girls for Most Popular Factual Programme, with the Loose Women battling the lads from Top Gear, and Simon Cowell has two shows in Most Popular Talent Show, with The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent both shortlisted. Will one of them win? Or will Brucie wipe the smile off Simon's face this time with a win for Strictly? It's all up to you...
