A quick chat with Primeval's Andrew Lee-Potts
Andrew-Lee Potts shares the secrets of Primeval's time-hopping finale on Saturday, June 6...

Primeval fans should brace themselves for a spectacular finale to the current series on ITV1 on Saturday, June 6. The team of dinosaur-hunters flit between past, present and future in pursuit of their old nemesis Helen Cutter (Juliet Aubrey), who is on a mission of mass-destruction.

We caught up with Andrew-Lee Potts, who plays über-nerd palaeontologist Connor Temple, to find out if it really is the end of the world as we know it...

We are, literally, saving the world… Last week, Helen took Christine Johnson to the future as a hostage. In the final episode, it’s down to me, Abby and Danny to track her across the time zones.

It all gets very dramatic… The three of us have to cope with all sorts of creatures from past series, and Connor gets badly injured. We get split up and have to find each other again, which leads to a very cool cliffhanger.

We also finally discover why the artefact is so important and what it does… I don’t want to give too much away, but Helen has stolen it and is trying to make her way back to the cradle of civilisation to do something that will affect the entire human race.

The newspapers have said Primeval is being axed… That’s complete speculation, though. ITV keep telling us they’re big fans of the show and they’re trying to make it work any way they can.

I haven’t finished playing Connor yet… There’s talk of an American version – sort of 'Primeval in New York' – a movie, or even a cartoon version. There are lots of tentacles in lots of pies.

I got engaged to Hannah Spearritt, who plays Abby, last year… I proposed in the middle of the Med. We were on a boat trip at sundown. But I wasn’t prepared for the waves. I was trying to look cool, but ended up swaying from side to side!
