A quick chat with Primeval's Hannah Spearritt
Primeval star Hannah Spearritt discusses dinosaurs, poker and firing guns...

We’re loving the new series of Primeval. How long will you stay in the show? "That’s a hard one to answer. I’m still loving the show and I’d like to stick around for a fourth series. But then, who knows?"

What’s the future for Abby and Connor? "In series two, he told her that he loved her. This series, they’ve been separated a lot. I think if they were thrown together a bit more they’d end up together."

What’s it like working with your real-life boyfriend, Andrew-Lee Potts? "He’s brilliant as Connor and I feel really proud when I see him do a scene. I feel very lucky to be working with my partner."

Is it true that Connor is the best-selling Primeval toy? "Yes, and I’m shocked, baffled and also slightly jealous about that. I think it might be because his doll comes with a dinosaur."

Do you share any of Abby’s traits? "I’m quite good at shooting. I practise in my living room. I put red love-heart post-it notes on the wall and shoot them with a pellet gun that Andrew-Lee gave me."

What would people be surprised to learn about you? "I love poker. In fact, it once became a bit of an obsession. I used to have about six online accounts. I have quite an addictive personality so things like that aren’t always the best for me."

Do you ever miss your S Club singing days? "We didn’t sing that much, to be honest. Most of the job was being interviewed, or doing TV shows and miming. I probably miss the dancing more than the singing."

If you could time travel, where would you go? "You know when you do something you shouldn’t, and you always wish you could put it right? I’d like to be able to backtrack and fix things. Either that or go back to the 1970s. I just love the clothes and the bands."

How would you cope with a real dinosaur? "If my adrenaline kicked in, I might find that I had some inner ability to deal with danger. But I’d probably just be girly and scream."
