Primeval Primeval's Connor: There's no wedding date... Yet!
Jan 9, 2011

How has the show changed since we last saw it?
"The show's been completely upgraded. Storylines are stronger and more substantial. We're also working in High Definition now, which is absolutely brilliant. And there's a lot more physical interaction with the predators. It's only a TV show, but it looks more like a big budget movie in this series!"
How has your character, Connor, changed?
"Connor has grown up quite a bit. He's still a fun character, but more mature. Having spent a year trapped in the Cretaceous with Abby [Hannah Spearritt] he's learned lots of new things, because they've been teaching each other survival skills. They've finally become a couple as well!
How does Connor and Abby's relationship progress throughout the series?
"Abby and Connor love each other, but their relationship does go through some difficulties later on. It's really sad and heartbreaking to watch."
Does Connor have a new mentor now that Cutter is gone?
"Philip Burton, played by Alexander Siddig, is one of the central new characters and Connor takes him on as his new mentor. You could even say Connor becomes a bit obsessed with him!"
What can you tell us about Phillip?
"The thing about Philip is he's a rich genius who has put billions of pounds into the ARC to help with its research - but you don't yet know why he's so interested in anomalies."
You and Hannah Spearritt are engaged in real life. Is it difficult working together, especially now Connor and Abby are a couple?
"Because Hannah and I got together on the show, it's more normal for us to be on set together than not. I think we're really lucky and I wouldn't have it any other way."
Have you set a date for the wedding yet?
"I've not, no! When I proposed ages ago I never thought about the actual date, I just wanted to know that we were going to get married. We've not stopped working since then. It will happen, but we haven't decided when yet."
