Engaged couple get together in Primeval as well

Hannah Spearritt has revealed that Abby and Connor will be together in the next series of Primeval.

The actress plays amphibian expert Abby in the ITV1 adventure series, while her boyfriend Andrew-Lee Potts plays Connor.

Their characters have had a will-they-won't-they relationship so far, but Hannah reveals that circumstances finally bring them together.

Series four picks up a year after the last series ended when Abby and Connor were left stuck up a tree in the Cretaceous period surrounded by various creatures scenting blood.

"Abby and Connor finally get it together," she said. "Being stranded in a place like the Cretaceous for a year meant that the love Abby has always had for Connor found a voice - and luckily Connor felt the same way!"

Hannah and Andrew-Lee first dated in 1997 and then reunited after meeting on the set of Primeval. Andrew-Lee has popped the question but wedding plans are still on hold.

"Do you know what, we haven't had time [to plan a wedding] as both of us have literally been flat out," Hannah said.

*Series four of Primeval begins on ITV1 on New Year's Day.
