Ex Corrie star Joanne turns medieval outlaw
 

Former Coronation Street actress Joanne Froggatt joins the cast of Robin Hood - as the outlaw sacks his band of Merry Men.

Joanne - who played Zoe Tattersall in Coronation Street - plays Kate as the family adventure returns to BBC1 for a third series on Saturday.

Returning to the Holy Land a changed man, Robin - played by Jonas Armstrong - is hell-bent on avenging the death of Marian, who was kiled by Guy of Gisborne.

Robin disbands his army of outlaws and gains two new friends - Kate and Friar Tuck (David Harewood) - who help him exact his revenge.

It has previously been reported that Kate will become Robin's new love interest.

Robin Hood returns to BBC1 on Saturday at 6.50pm.
