'Murder Nottingham - and take his place!'

Prince John is determined to become king and is travelling the land to gain support from England's noblemen. John is not happy with the Sheriff, however, and makes Gisborne an offer he can't refuse - kill Nottingham and take his place!

Meanwhile, Robin realises what John is doing. If they can steal his gold, they'll prevent the wicked prince from getting his support. The outlaws attack what they believe is Prince John's carriage but find that it only contains the prince's physician. He's soon put to work, however, as Kate has been stabbed in the fight.

The prince arrives in Nottingham and he's not happy to see the Sheriff is still alive. To punish Gisborne, he orders the Sheriff to kill him before the day is out. He's also furious to discover that his physician has been attacked and, taking Isabella with him, visits Locksley where he has the village church set alight.

Disgusted with John, Isabella agrees to help Robin. The Prince is obsessed with finding someone with scrofula, a medical ailment that can only be cured by a king - if he can accomplish such a thing it will support his case for the throne. Tuck creates a potion that produces similar symptoms to scrofula and Kate agrees to take it.

Isabella smuggles the outlaws into the castle and Kate is brought before John. The prince tries to heal Kate but fails and is humiliated before his nobles, while Robin's men raid the prince's gold and escape.

Meanwhile, Gisborne and the Sheriff face each other on the battlements and the Sheriff is stabbed in the chest. Gisbourne declares him dead but, as his body is taken away, the Sheriff's hand moves. Can he still be alive?
