Robin and Guy face the truth

Gisborne, escaping from Isabella, faces Robin in the forest but, as they are about to fight, they're both hit by darts and fall, unconscious. When they awake, they are captives of a mysterious leper who tells them a story of their parents, and of one they must save.

In Robin's youth, Malcolm, his widowed father, is lover to Ghislaine, Guy's mother. Her husband, Roger, is thought to be dead, but one night, he returns to his wife and he's secretly suffering from leprosy. Ghislaine is pregnant by Malcolm, who decides to tell the priest of Roger's condition and Guy's father is cast out of the village, forbidden to return.

Though Ghislaine is heartbroken at what they've done, she declares herself a widow and can now marry Malcolm. But first the baby is born and sent away, to be collected once they marry.

Meanwhile, Guy realises that Ghislane has been seeing his father in the woods and accuses him of betraying his family. Roger, incensed, heads to his home where he faces Ghislane and Malcolm, who has already argued with Guy and caused a fire to start. Malcolm and Roger fight, but Ghislaine is accidentally knocked to the floor and killed.

As the house burns and with Roger and Malcom thought dead, the scheming bailiff, Longthorne, declares himself Lord of the Manor. The young Robin doesn't know what to do – it's his right by birth - but he eventually returns to the village and drives Longthorne out of the village at arrow-point.

The leper finishes his story and reveals his identity - he's Malcolm, Robin's father! He didn't die in the fire but couldn't face his son again after what he had done. He needs Robin and Guy to forget their differences - their half brother, Archer, is sentenced to hang and they must help him.

Together, the two enemies unite and head for York. They have a brother to rescue!
