Skins

*Skins screen on Thursdays at 10pm on E4*
If you missed the previous two series of this BAFTA-nominated comedy drama don't worry - the creators have scrapped most of the original cast and started from scratch. The original gang have all departed and Roundview Sixth Form College finds itself besieged with a new batch of students, all on the verge of adulthood.
In this edgy, modern drama Effy, Pandora, Cook, Freddie, JJ, Naomi, Thomas and twins Katie and Emily soon forge alliances as they begin the epic task of growing up. True to form Skins continues to push parameters with risky adult subjects.
Our heroes do drink, drugs and each other as they cope with lesbianism, death and several run-ins with Bristol's hardest gangster Johnny White (Mackenzie Crook).
Effy, the unofficial leader of the pack, quickly makes a mark on lovelorn Freddie yet favours sexual encounters with Cook. Meanwhile, her parents break up following her mother’s affair.
Freddie struggles with his mother's death and finds he's growing apart from Cook and JJ. His sister doesn’t help by entering a dubious talent contest and milking personal tragedy for viewer votes.
Emily's crush on Naomi develops into something more after a drug-fuelled party at Pandora's house. While Pandora's mother accidentally gets wasted on MDMA cookies and her daughter learns the true meaning of 'turf and surf'.
Other dysfunctional additions to Skins cast in series 3 include:
Father Ted's Ardal O'Hanlon as Kieran, an apathetic and alcoholic teacher
Geoffrey Hughes from The Royle Family as Cook's dodgy Uncle Keith
Maureen Lipman as Pandora's stoner aunt
Sally Phillips as Pandora's OCD mother
The Fast Show’s Simon Day as Freddie's father
and Olivia Coleman as Naomi's free-spirited hippy mother.
