Effy's lost in the woods

Effy's a mess. Her mother's oblivious to her existence and her relationship with Cook is soulless sex. She picks up the courage to tell Freddie how she really feels - only to discover him with his new girlfriend, catty twin, Katie...

Katie's planning a party in the forest and everyone's invited except Cook. Effy borrows her mum's car and they take off for a night of fun. But it all goes a bit Deliverance when they get lost and ask some defective poachers for directions.

One weird altercation later, involving a rifle and a car chase, they finally make it to Gobblers End and set up camp. Effy finds magic mushrooms and everyone, with the exception of Katie and JJ, become intoxicated. But things go bump in the night when Cook makes an unwelcome appearance.

Cook creeps into camp wearing a balaclava and, not recognising him, Effy whacks him with a log. Angered, Cook divulges a few of the group's secrets - he's sleeping with Pandora and Effy's in love with Freddie.

After these revelations, a vengeful Katie taunts a very high Effy when they find themselves alone. Panicked, Effy hits Katie with a rock and races back to camp where she gets it on with Freddie.

The next morning, Katie's nowhere to be found and the previous nights' events are weighing heavily on Effy's mind. Katie's eventually found unconscious in the forest and hospitalised. Effy's ostracised by her friends and, with nowhere else to turn, she gets back with bad boy Cook...
