Freddie fights with friends and family

Freddie, his father Leo (The Fast Show’s Simon Day) and his sister Karen are all grieving for Freddie’s mum in their own way. Freddie devotes himself to long, lonely hours in the skate park and getting stoned. Leo devotes himself to Karen and her quest to win a sleazy reality TV show. And Karen devotes herself to becoming the next member of girl-group Da Sexxbombz.

Freddie comes into direct conflict with his father and sister when he objects to Karen milking their personal tragedy to gain viewer votes. When he refuses to play along for the cameras, Leo takes drastic action and turns the shed Freddie, JJ and Cook have used as a den since they were kids into a rehearsal room for Karen. Things kick off between father and son resulting in Leo raising his hand to Freddie.

Meanwhile Effy and Freddie find themselves increasingly drawn to each other and share a romantic kiss. However, relations between Cook and Freddie reach breaking point. After Karen loses the talent competition by a handful of votes, Freddie loses it with Cook who had everyone in the pub voting against Karen.

After a forceful encounter the two childhood friends part company and Freddie goes in search of Effy - but she has decided to resist her true feelings and rekindles her sexual relationship with Cook.
