Spooks' Jo: I want to go down in a hail of bullets

Miranda Raison has said that if her Spooks character Jo Portnman is ever killed off, she would like it to be in the line of fire.

"It'd have to be taking a bullet for Harr y [Section D boss, played by Peter Firth], that'd be the ultimate, wouldn't it?" she said. "Leaping in front of him and taking multiple bullets, that's how I'd like to go."

"I think everyone believes the cast don't know when they're going to get killed off until they read it in the script, but you do a get a warning. You just hope that if you go, it's by mutual consent and you're not getting chucked and bumped off," she said.

Miranda added that the show was much different for her and her character Jo now Rupert Penry-Jones had left the cast.

"It's been very, very different without him around. We were close, and I've known him a long time now.

Referring to their on-screen characters, she said: "I think Adam always saw Jo as the newbie, because he recruited her. Now Lucas (Richard Armitage) is around, that has changed and he sees her in a different way."
