Actress Julie Graham reveals that a frantic search is what keeps her character going in BBC One's exciting new drama, Survivors.
Julie, pictured, plays worried mother Abby Grant in the re-imagining of Terry Nation's cult TV series, about a group of people thrown together after a virus wipes out almost all the world's population.
She told whatsontv.co.uk: "When the virus happens, Abby goes off to find [her son] and that's what keeps her going. Along the way she finds strengths she didn't know she had. I suppose she's the moral backbone of the show."
Julie's co-star Zoe Tapper revealed that her character, Dr Anya Raczynski, suffers emotional turmoil as the virus claims lives.
Zoe said of Anya: "You see her dealing with what soon appears to be the full extent of this outbreak and you follow her progress through this fateful day when eventually everyone has died... and she has not been able to save anyone."
Nip/Tuck star Phillip Rhys plays ladies' man Al Sadiq, who receives a huge wake-up call in the aftermath of the virus.
"He's a bit of a playboy, lothario kind of guy who's all about having a good time," Phillip said of his character. "The overall theme of the show is that people need people - you're stronger together."
Survivors begins with a 90-minute episode on Sunday November 23 at 9pm on BBC One.
